I remember thinking, after receiving the Spirit of the Lord, how I
was not going to ask Him for material things because everyone
did that, so I thought, and it was not the reason I wanted Him in
my life. I was only going to ask for help in maintaining a proper
spiritual life. As I did that, He quickly sent His Word to teach
me that was not the way and not what He intended for my life.
It took time for me to make the transition, but I now ask and
look to Him for everything.
He has shown me that asking God for help is nothing to be
ashamed of or embarrassed by. God wants to fill the voids
in our lives, to give us strength, to provide for our needs, to
deliver us from past failures, to heal our sorrows and
sicknesses, as well as, to heal the emotional wounds of a
broken spirit. There’s no required stance or position. We
don't have to recite or memorize anything. At anytime,
anywhere, just speak plainly and naturally from the heart.
He's even given us the privilege of enlisting the prayers and
support of others to help achieve the level of faith needed
while awaiting our request.
Life will always be full of challenges. Why struggle through it
when God is just a prayer away?
