It’s hard to imagine, but every kind of creature was confined in
that Ark with Noah and his household. No matter how delicate
or how fierce, lions and sheep, doves and ravens all bunked
under one roof with the chosen family.
Every accommodation had to be accounted for including food
consumption, waste disposal, and time spent enduring all this,
yet I wonder about the sounds. I imagine the animals and their
host family were more often silent than hostile to one another
as they sensed the doom of everything outside. The hand
selection of God was what separated them from the fate that
found all other creatures not on board.
I don’t doubt that there were times of great discomfort and
inconvenience for everyone and everything. Long extended
journeys of any kind can have its moments. Nevertheless,
there are certain facts that can not be denied or dismissed.
No matter what the conditions were like inside, the grass was
not greener on the outside.
I will praise God right here, right now, right where I’m at. In rain
and flood tides, I will worship God by faith and by choice. It's a
privilege just to be on board … by His choice.
