Backwards or Forwards? Is it a view from where you've
been or where you’re going?
- For God said … I will go before thee, and make the
crooked places straight …
… I will make a way in the wilderness …
If it’s a view of the past, what does the future look like?
- God also told Abram to journey out into a place that He
would show him. However this unseen place would not
be revealed until Abram actually got there.
Even in clear daylight, it’s not hard to get turned around or
lose perception. God's Word must be our guiding light,
compass, and road map at all times. Otherwise, how will we
know when we get there if that’s really where we’re
supposed to be?
Scriptures to Reference:
- Isaiah 45 verse 2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked
places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut
in sunder the bars of iron:
- Isaiah 43 verse 19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall
spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the
wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
- Genesis 12 verse 1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee
out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's
house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
- Psalms 119 verse 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a
light unto my path.
- Psalms 31 verse 3 For thou art my rock and my fortress;
therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
23. Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me
by my right hand.
24. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive
me to glory.
