Can you calculate the blessing or the reward for doing right in
the sight of God?
If you know the story of Joseph, that from the age of 17,
- Joseph was separated from his family -
- sold into slavery by his own brothers, -
- ends up in a foreign country, -
- is wrongfully accused, -
- and then spends approximately 13 years, of what some
might call, “the best years” of his life in a dungeon
- not for doing wrong - but for being obedient to God.
But in one day -- God restores all of those years -
- God promoted Joseph from being servant and prisoner
to the position of Prime Minister over all the land -
(he was second only to the King).
- God rewarded and blessed him -
not just for the moment, but for the rest of his life.
- He was so blessed that he lived well beyond his years -
and took great care of his family - including the ones
that put him out - and he lived to see the children of his
grandchildren - and then he passed it on to them for
their inheritance.
There is no other formula that you can possible use to
calculate the blessing for obedience to God, except …
- But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,
neither have entered into the heart of man,
the things which God hath prepared for them
that love him. -- 1 Corinthians 2 verse 9
The formula is His Word and there's a reward for us too.
