Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not
fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be
confident. -- Psalms 27 verse 3 (Kings James Bible)
When everything goes wrong, what are you confident
in? What definite certainty do you have to draw from
within, that subdues the fears and anxiety of the heart
when the odds are overwhelmingly not in your favor?
In times of trouble, what anchors you?
David was certain about one thing, the presence of the
Lord. A great man of war, yet his ultimate confidence
were not in himself or in those around him, but in the
Lord. Being able to worship the Lord and to find the
direction and guidance that he needed was the certainty
that he would draw from and was always confident in,
giving him strength and courage during the worst of
times. Certain of the Lord’s resources needed to
succeed inspired a joyful heart in David full of praises
unto the Lord.
The Lord is the same yesterday and today.
May God’s Word encourage and enrich your faith in Him today.
Word of the Day ... Fear
For further study and inspiration:
4. One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I
may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to
behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.
5. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in
the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up
upon a rock.
6. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies
round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices
of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
