Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet
we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
-- Isaiah 53 verse 4 (Kings James Bible)
The Lord understands the sorrows of life. In human
form, Jesus did not just carry His own problems to the
cross, but every one of ours too. He related to the
difficulties of those on the highest levels, as well as, to
the disadvantaged, physically challenged and society‘s
outcasts. Knowing the grief and endless sorrow that sin
imposes on a soul, interceded and paid the ultimate
price to set us all free.
Today, even though He has already paved the way of
salvation for us, Christ yet wants to be the one to carry
our every care. No matter how great or small the
concern, Jesus understands and knows how to help us
safely through it. Jesus successfully carried our sorrows
with Him to the cross without dropping them, why would
He drop them now?
May God’s Word bless and uplift your spirit today.
Word of the Day ... Sorrows
For further study and inspiration:
3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and
acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him;
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet
we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised
for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.
